A Christmas/ New Year's Party Outfit Idea

Heya, so I don't usually do fashion ideas/posts on my blog, but I thought as Christmas is only 4 days away and new year’s only 10 days away, I thought that I would put together a simple yet sophisticated outfit that I feel would be suitable for either. Enjoy!

1: New Look Pencil Dress-£22.99 Link
I feel this dress is very demure, but still shows of your figure. It is off the shoulder which also adds more detail rather than your average LBD. It also comes to your knees, so if you are not comfortable with your thighs it cover them, but isn't too long to make you look shorter. For the price I feel this is amazing and a piece you can style for lots of different events or situations

2: Miss Selfridge Floral Jacket-£35.00 Link
I love this jacket; I feel that it adds a bit of colour to a monochrome outfit. It is fitted and I feel that having a bulky jacket would make the dress look a little less flattering. Having the black floral also incorporates the monochrome but making it more eye catching having it on the mustard background. At £35, it could be considered pricey, but for a key piece that could be used for other monochrome styles outfits, I feel it is a reasonable price.

3: River Island Platform Heels- £50- Link
At £50, you could consider these shoes to be very expensive, but I feel because they are very classic and neutral they can be worn with pretty much everything. Again they co-operate with the monochrome outfit and make the outfit a lot sleeker with having the slim heel.

4: H&M Clutch Bag- £12.99- Link
I feel that this clutch is perfect for an event or party as it has the long strap, so you can be hands free. It also folds up to allow you take as much as you want. For £13 I feel that again this is a piece that is timeless and can be worn in several ways.

Winter Fashion Wishlist '14

Heya, so today I am showing you a few fashion pieces that I have recently found and am most likely going to purchase in the coming days or weeks. They are also all sale items, which I thought would appeal to more people as it is around this time of the year and particularity nearer to Christmas that the purse is feeling a little lighter after buying Christmas presents, as I know mine definitely is! However it is very important to treat yourself as well as others at this time of the year, so here is a slightly more affordable way to do this. (Or maybe it is just me being a bargain hunter!) Enjoy!

Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude Foundation

Heya, so I missed last Sunday's post so hopefully I will be able to get one up on Monday (My birthday!) of my birthday meal outfit. So here is the one wanted to get up last week!

Now that rambly mess is over, this is going to be a review of my current foundation that I am loving! Enjoy!

Rimmel Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Nude Foundation.
Price- £7.99

Availability- Boots and Superdrug.

So the foundation itself comes in a glass bottle with a pump, which makes everything simpler! It comes in 6 different shades and  I am in the lightest shade, and I find this a pretty good match, if  too light. I find it really hard to find a really good nude foundation as many in the bottles look nude and then bring them home and they are orange and however much money down the drain, but this is surprisingly great.
I find that the coverage is really good, but as I have quite red skin I use two layers, I find that even having the two layers it doesn't look cakey and lasts all day with only a little powder one through my college day. I find that using a sponge works best for this as it is quite and thick consistency (well compared to my L'Oreal True Match Foundation,) and then blending out more with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

I think this foundation is great, I would say more suited to oily skin as it can be slightly drying when setting over the top with a powder as the consistency is thick. I think the coverage is really evens and I definitely notice, when I use the foundation,  that my skin looks even. It gives a matte look, so maybe avoid if you prefer a dewier foundation.
