Prom Makeup

So this has ended up being three parts! Anyway the final part is makeup. Hope you enjoy :)

Stevie xox

This is really the only picture you can see my makeup clearly. I wanted it to be very natural and also to last the whole night with a bit of great dancing thrown in!

Foundation-MUA Matte Perfect in Fair- This is my everyday foundation. I wasn't originally planning to wear this to prom as it isn't very long lasting but it surprised me and lasted the whole night. This foundation is very liquid based and as it is still quite dark, even though it is the lightest shade, I do need to blend it a lot to get it to look more natural. It also makes my face quite shiny after application so I find I do need to set it with powder afterwards.  I bought this from Superdrug for £2

Concealer- Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Number 1: Fair- This is a recent purchase after I have seen many Youtube guru's have been raving about this, so I decided I would try it out. I love this product, I have quite regular breakouts and nothing is going to cover it up completely but this gets rid of the redness and covers it and it stays put. I would definitely recommend it. I bought this from Superdrug for £4.19

Powder- Rimmel Stay Matte in Number-006: Warm Beige- I decided to purchase this product after my previous powder had hit pan and I wanted to try something different. I saw this in Boots and after reading reviews about good face powders this one of the most recommended and I can see why! This kept my makeup looking even and in place for the night and the price is also fabulous. I brought this from Boots for £3.99

Mascara- MUA Extreme Curl Mascara in Black/Brown- I purchased this after much persuasion from a friend, I  like this product and it makes my lashes look longer but the  downfall is it transfers onto my cheek and it is impossible to re apply as it dries very crumbly. I brought this from Superdrug for £2.

Eye shadow- You can’t see it very clearly in the picture, but I used the Natural Collection Mink/Sable Duo Eyeshadow and the MUA Trio Eyeshadows in Innocence, I used the lightest shade from the Natural Collection Eyeshadows all over the lid and the other slightly darker colour and blended this from the outer corner and slightly into the crease. I then took the darkest colour in the MUA Trio Eyeshadows and blended this into the crease.

Prom Dress and Accessories

Heya, so I said in my last blog post that the next would be in the next few days, but now I have finished school I have a load of free time so I thought I would do it today! I will be telling you the makeup I am wearing, my accessories and of course my dress. Hope you enjoy! :)

This is really the only picture I took where you can see my necklace but  it is  3 tier necklace with a silver flower and two crystals below this. I don't know where you can find it as it is my mum's, sorry :(

This is the dress from the side. You can see a bit more clearly that it also has beading detail on the straps of the dress so this is why I chose to wear my hair up.

This is the view of my dress from the front, as you can see it has beading under the bust and comes down lower at the front. I chose this style and colour of dress because I feel it suits my body shape as I have a smaller waist and wider hips so it extenuated my waist and skimmed over my hips.

This is the clutch I took with me. I liked it as it was practically the same colour as my dress and the bow detail made it more interesting. This was originally from New Look, but my Nan actually found it in a charity shop and thought it would be perfect to match with my dress.
This is a bit of a random addition to the other pictures but this was our transport. Asking brother... The only thing I know about it is it is a BMW but who knows what one!

PROM '13!

Hello! Well it has been a while.
So yesterday evening I had my Year 11 Leavers Prom and it was amazing! So I thought I would share with you a few little pictures of the night and the amazing people I spent such a great time with.
These people mean such a lot to me and I hope to keep in touch with all of them and I know they will be successful in life and I wish them all the best.I will also be doing a blog post on the dress and clutch I took and also my makeup on the night, which will be up in the next few days, so bear with :)

L-R- Charlotte, Claire, Amy, Me.
I travelled to prom with these girls and they are all the nicest people you could imagine and I hope to stay in touch with all of them. They all looked so gorgeous tonight and we always have such a good laugh together.

This is my Science teacher, Miss Wake. I started Science B-Tech at the beginning of the year and our whole class have worked our asses off to get it done. She is the best teacher I could have asked for and I am sorry to be saying goodbye after such a short time of her teaching me.

This is one of my best friends, Amy. She has the most contagious laugh and cracks me up pretty much every day.  Such an amazing and lovely girl. We always end up laughing at the most stupid things and I know we will stay in touch.

These are two of my best friends Katie and Tilly. I have mentioned them in my McFly blog post as well.  Katie is the sweetest and funniest girl and Tilly is my PE buddy who is just amazing!

This is Jade, my PE chum and is just fabulous. She is hilarious and is so lovely to be around

This is Hayley, another PE chum :). We met when we found out my mum knew her Nan. We have had so many laughs and I hope to keep in touch.

This is Lisa, we had Wider Key Skills together and she is a genuinely lovely girl and we rocked it out on the dancefloor :)

This is Jess, we have so many great memories together, seeing Fred the Movie (don't recommend!) and just all our conversations end in laughter.

This is Louise, my Science buddy.  We have lots of laughs and she is a lovely girl and I wish her all the best.

This is Ellie, a fellow MursArmy girl. We have great memories, seeing Olly earlier this year and just makes me laugh all the time. We definitely had the best moves going on last night. Olly would be proud!
Check out Ellie's blog here- http://magicalfairyglitter.blogspot.co.uk/

This is Claire, Amy and Myself

This is Claire, she is just a lovely girl and I have had so many laughs with her. She is a loyal and kind hearted girl.  We defiantly partied it out on the dance floor!

This is my lovely form tutor, Mrs Silcock, she has had our form for 5 years and it is a wonder she has put up with us! She is a lovely lady and I am so sad to be not seeing her next year.

This is my friend Matt, I went to primary school with him and even though we don't see each other or talk that often he is a great person and I hope to see him at college.

This is my best friend Izzy. We have been friends since primary school when she sat on my imaginary best friend in year 2 (traumatizing!) and we just started talking! We have too many great memories to count and even though she isn't going to the same college I know we will keep in touch. She is just such a nice girl and we always make each other laugh to the point where we can't breathe!

My Revision Tips

Hello there! Feels like I haven't written in ages, but today I thought I would talk about the joys of exams and coursework! We all have to do this at some point in our lives and I am going to talk about how I try to stay organised but still make it relatively fun. Hopefully they will be of some use and they will make you feel more confident when entering an exam or completing assignments. I wish all of you that are doing GCSE’S the best of luck and you will all do amazing. So as I am in year 11, I am currently doing many exams and also numerous pieces of coursework. I currently only have 3 exams left- two Maths and 1 Acting, but as I do B-Tec Science (all coursework, no exams) I don’t have to revise for this only coursework. This in a way is easier for me because I am terrible in exam conditions, but with the exams I have already completed, I have defiantly noticed my confidence grow after each one i finished. So here are a few little tips I have found useful...
     Stevie xox

        1)    Find your best way to revise and stick to it- A lot of teachers have their own way that they want you to revise, but  at the end of the day it is you sitting the exam, not them. Obviously if you find your teaches methods of revising helpful, use them. But if not then here are some other good revision techniques...
-
  •     Flash cards- My personal favourite method and very simple- you write the question on one side and answer on the other, you can get your friends or family to test you or test yourself and any questions you get wrong is what you revise
  • -     Mind maps- These are good if you have one big topic with lots of other topics inside them as these can make the information more spaced out and simpler to read and you can put them anywhere!

2) Plan when you can revise and when the exams are- This is one of the most important steps. Knowing when your exams are gives you a clear guideline as to how much revision you need to do and how long you have to do it.  You can make a timetable in which you have the amount of days leading up to the exam and marking the times you are busy and the filling in the times of the day you have to revise each subject. Within this you also need to spread out different subjects. For example- 20 minutes of Maths and then 20 minutes of Physics.

3)Take regular breaks- If you do a lot of revision in one go, then it has been proven that you won’t contain it. So taking a 5-10 minute break after a 20-25 minute revision session, will make sure that you remember what you have just learned. When on breaks make sure that you drink plenty of fluids and eat when you feel hungry.

Current Favourite Songs and Artists '13

Heyyaa, So I am currently obsessed with lots of different styles and artists of music and especially having a heck load of revision and coursework to complete music gets me through this and keeps me relatively relaxed. So here my chummies are my current favourite songs and artists...

Stevie xox

Firstly an artist I  found out about around 6 months ago was American singer Hunter Hayes, the first song I heard from his was 'Wanted' and I just completely fell in love with it and it made me weep! I then looked through his album and found my favourite song from his at the moment 'Somebody's Heartbreak.' I just find his voice angelic and so calming, his lyrics are quite basic and soppy but this is one of the many reasons he has made it to this list. I would highly recommend you check out his music.

Secondly is a very recent band I have come across, around 2-3 months ago. I found out about them when it was revealed they would be supporting McFly on tour, and immediately logged onto Youtube and watched their covers. It is of course The Vamps. They do covers on Youtube and live they are absolutely amazing. Their harmonies are slick and they do complete justice to each song they cover. So particular favourites of mine are- '22', 'That Girl' and their own song 'Wild Heart.'

My final favourite artist I have been listening to for about 1-2 years is Christina Grimmie, she also does covers on Youtube and has become a very well known artist recently. Her voice is so unique and powerful that every song she covers is made her own as she also plays the piano. She has covered many pop songs and everyone I have watched are unrecognizable and even songs I haven't liked the original version of, I have fallen in love with her cover of it. My favourite songs of hers include- 'Titanium' 'Skyscraper' and 'Locked out of Heaven.'

A few other random songs I have loved at the moment include:

Little Talks- Julia Sheer ft Jon D (Cover)
Can't Hold Us-Macklemore ft Ryan Lewis
Daydreamer-Adele
Treasure- Bruno Mars
On Top of the World- Imagine Dragons
The Other Side- Jason Derulo
Bubblewrap- McFly
Everybody Talks- Neon Trees
The Apple Tree- Nina Nesbitt
Let Her Go- Passenger.
